About the
Carolinas Golf Foundation
Supporting Golf in the Carolinas
Founded by the Carolinas Golf Association in 1977, the Carolinas Golf Foundation is the charitable arm of the CGA with a mission to provide access to life-changing opportunities through the game of golf. Since its founding, the Foundation has invested over $4 million in programs and initiatives benefiting golf throughout North and South Carolina.
Junior Golf Initiatives
The Carolinas Golf Foundation helps young people across North and South Carolina discover, play, and stay connected to golf. Through programs that make the game more accessible and affordable, the Foundation creates more opportunities for juniors to get on the course and develop a lifelong connection to the game.
Initiatives include Youth on Course, First Tee chapters, along with other junior golf programs designed to expand access and introduce more young people to the game.
Scholarships
Students pursuing higher education are a key focus for the Carolinas Golf Foundation. Each year, the Foundation awards multiple $5,000 David Parrott Memorial Scholarships to deserving undergraduate students who have participated in junior golf programs in the Carolinas.
Turfgrass Research & Educational Support
The Carolinas Golf Foundation supports the golf course management profession by funding turfgrass education, scholarships, and workforce development throughout the Carolinas. CGF provides funding for students pursuing careers as golf course superintendents and turfgrass professionals at Clemson University, North Carolina State University, and community colleges across the region, including career-development initiatives such as the USGA Greenkeeper Apprenticeship Program (GAP).
Ways to Give
There's more than one way to support the Foundation's programs. Make a direct gift, bid at the Annual Auction, or contribute through the License Plate Program. No matter how you give, you help strengthen the game of golf across the Carolinas.
